The challenge:

Magic Mind leadership needed a complete view of the business to make informed sales, marketing, and inventory decisions.

Magic Mind launched on Shopify and initially relied on out-of-the-box metrics from their platform to power key financial models. The business quickly outgrew this functionality and was constrained by Shopify’s lack of reporting flexibility. CEO and Founder William Hicks spent hours each week downloading manual CSVs and massaging data in Excel before he felt comfortable making critical company decisions.

In addition to the limitations of Shopify data, Magic Mind needed to report on metrics from paid marketing platforms. These platforms were even more rigid and siloed in their reporting capabilities. It became unmanageable to pull data from each source system, and the platforms didn’t always agree. When numbers seemed off, it was hard to understand why. Pulling data from multiple sources and trying to make sense of it was time intensive and did not scale with the business.

Preql simplified the process of getting value out of data quickly.
